Nitish Kumar is under the radar of nearly all political opponents in the realm of Bihar politics. Although he is currently aligned with the BJP, their true ambitions remain undisclosed.
It was the BJP for whom Chirag Paswan emerged as Modi’s devoted ally, pushing JDU to the third spot in 2020. Similar events appear to be unfolding for the upcoming elections.
It seems the challenges that Nitish Kumar faces in forthcoming elections remain, just with new players. The way Prashant Kishor is conducting his campaign in Bihar bears a striking resemblance to the influence of Chirag Paswan.
In an attempt to balance his actions, Prashant Kishor critiques all sides, yet his stance on the BJP lacks the sharpness he reserves for Nitish Kumar or Tejashwi Yadav.
Now a leader of Jan Suraaj Party, Prashant Kishor, often referred to as PK, has recently focused his efforts significantly on Nitish Kumar’s areas.
With time, dynamics change, and Chirag Paswan finds himself allied with Nitish Kumar, asserting that the Chief Ministerial post in Bihar is occupied.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Bihar in a week, planning an overnight stay in Patna. In anticipation, Chirag Paswan’s visit to meet Nitish Kumar at his residence holds significant political symbolism, indicating a deviation from his past roles in the upcoming elections.
Chirag Paswan asserts that there is no vacancy for the Chief Minister’s role in Bihar… Chief Minister Nitish Kumar leads our NDA coalition, and I trust that following the elections, a robust NDA government embodying Modi’s vision will be established under Kumar’s leadership.
Central Minister Chirag Paswan expresses his intent to visit Bihar soon, although he has no plans to contest the Assembly elections presently.
In this new political climate, while Chirag Paswan aligns with Nitish Kumar, RCP Singh, who was once a close associate, now stands with Prashant Kishor. Kishor, who is already committed to uprooting Kumar’s base, now has the support of RCP Singh as well.
Since the inception of the Jan Suraaj Campaign, Prashant Kishor has consistently targeted Nitish Kumar, with a strong focus on his stronghold, Kalyan Bigha.
Prashant Kishor’s statewide tours emphasize that Kumar hasn’t contributed significantly to Bihar’s progress and is perceived to be aging. This campaign inadvertently benefits the BJP as Kishor also targets Tejashwi Yadav, portraying him as academically inferior.
In 2020, it’s believed that Chirag Paswan’s involvement cost JDU about three dozen seats. JDU leader Lalan Singh once remarked that the Chirag model in the Bihar Assembly Election was crafted to undermine Janata Dal United, pushing Nitish’s party to third place.
Prashant Kishor has previously stated that JDU wouldn’t survive the Bihar elections, and there were discussions suggesting that if his son Nishant Kumar doesn’t engage in politics, JDU could dissolve.
In Nalanda, Nitish Kumar’s home district, Prashant Kishor claims that JDU is a sinking ship, urging JDU leaders and workers to join Jan Suraaj Party.
Prashant Kishor asserts that any dedicated JDU members have the opportunity to join Jan Suraaj within two months… Nitish Kumar can’t start or sustain a party anymore… the government is run by officers… and JDU itself is managed by a few contractors with no political relevance.
