Owaisi Rebukes Nishikant Dubey: 'Modi Ji, Prevent This…'

AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi admonished, 'You are in power and have become so radicalized that you're menacing the court with threats of religious warfare. Modi Ji, if you fail to intervene, the nation's strength will wane. The country will not excuse you, and you might not stay in power tomorrow.'

There’s an uproar over BJP MP Nishikant Dubey's comments on the Supreme Court. AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi has hit back at Dubey, declaring them 'tubelight' (slow to grasp). Owaisi stated, 'By intimidating the court, do you realize what Article 142 of the Constitution entails? Crafted by B.R. Ambedkar, who was far more visionary than you. The BJP is deceiving and intimidating with threats of religious war.'

Furthermore, Owaisi pointed out, 'You are in power and have become so radicalized that you're bullying the court with threats of religious conflict. Modi Ji, if you do not stop these people, the nation will weaken. The country will not forgive and might not keep you in power tomorrow. Even Hindus in India know that crafting Waqf laws doesn't secure jobs for me. Hindus realize that leveraging hatred against Muslims has been BJP’s method to gather votes. There's nothing substantive to show otherwise. 4.5% of youth are unemployed, with no plan to tackle this unemployment.'

What Did Nishikant Dubey Say?

From Godda, Jharkhand, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey’s commentary on the Supreme Court drew ire. Dubey accused the Chief Justice of being accountable for the nation's civil unrest and alleged that the judiciary fuels religious wars in India.

Dubey stated that the Supreme Court is overstepping its boundaries, voiding laws passed by Parliament, and even directing the President who appoints Supreme Court judges. Formulating laws is Parliament’s role under Article 368 of the Constitution, while courts are meant to interpret these laws. If every task requires Supreme Court intervention, should Parliament shut down? If laws exist for everything, how and why is the Supreme Court crafting new ones?

What Did BJP President Nadda Address?

However, BJP distanced itself from Dubey’s remarks. BJP National President J.P. Nadda on social media platform X posted that the statements by BJP MPs Nishikant Dubey and Dinesh Sharma about the judiciary and Chief Justice do not relate to the Bharatiya Janata Party. These are their personal opinions, and the BJP neither aligns with nor supports such remarks. BJP outright dismisses these statements.

BJP’s Guideline for Party Leaders

Nadda continued, reinforcing that BJP has always revered the judiciary, readily accepting their orders and recommendations because as a party, we believe that the Supreme Court and other courts are integral to our democracy. They are the foundational pillars upholding constitutional safeguards. I have instructed both and all members to refrain from making such statements.
