Oscar Nominations 2024:

Hollywood's apex of accolades, the Oscars, has divulged this year's contender lineup. Get set for the 96th Academy Awards. On Tuesday, January 23rd, the nominations across 23 categories were unveiled live by stars Zazie Beetz and Jack Quaid. Topping the list is Christopher Nolan's legendary 'Oppenheimer,' securing 13 nominations.

Following 'Oppenheimer,' 'Poor Things' clinched nominations in 11 categories. Leonardo DiCaprio's 'Killers of the Flower Moon' stands third with 10 nods. Released alongside 'Oppenheimer,' Margot Robbie's 'Barbie' has landed 8 nominations, marking it as one of 2023's blockbusters, though neither Margot nor director Greta Gerwig received Oscar nods.

The Oscars 2024 stirred hopes for Indian film '12th Fail' and Hina Khan's 'Country of the Blind' to garner nominations. However, the documentary 'To Kill a Tiger' made an unexpected breakthrough, earning a spot. This documentary, based on a small Indian village and crafted by Nisha Pahuja, a Canadian resident, had its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival 2022 and also won the Best Canadian Feature Film at the Amplify Voices Awards.
