Previously facing accusations in the chopper scam and submarine purchase bribery scandals, Verma had his name cleared in both 2015 and 2017 by the courts.
The CBI and ED conducted extensive investigations into these cases, involving Verma's spouse, Anca Verma, in some allegations. However, she was also acquitted of all charges. Anca Verma was also present at the event, marking a new chapter for Abhishek Verma as he stood alongside Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde to embark on his journey with the Shiv Sena.
