U.S. President Donald Trump has shared an image of India's India Gate on social media, describing it as a magnificent triumphal arch. Trump shared this image on the social media platform, Truth Social, stating, 'India's India Gate is a splendid historical monument, yet our triumphal arch will surpass it in grandeur!' This post has sparked speculation that Trump intends to build a similar structure in Washington D.C.
According to The Washington Post, Trump is contemplating the construction of a massive triumphal arch in Washington D.C. to commemorate America's 250th Independence anniversary (America 250).
The proposed monument, known as the 'Independence Arch,' is planned to reach a height of 250 feet (approximately 76 meters), significantly taller than the Lincoln Memorial (100 feet tall). It will be located along the banks of the Potomac River, near the Memorial Bridge.

Earlier in January, Trump shared three different designs for this arch on Truth Social, one of which featured gold gilding. He mentioned that it would be unprecedented and would place Washington D.C. on par with other major world capitals with a triumphal display. Trump asserts that for a nation as great and powerful as the United States, this would be the utmost grandiose.
