The internal conflict over seat allocation within Bihar's Grand Alliance has taken a turbulent turn. The disputes regarding claims over each other's politically strategic seats have raised alarms.

Meanwhile, Mukesh Sahani, head of the Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP), has further complicated matters with his demand for 15 specific seats within the alliance.

According to sources, not only is Sahani adamant on certain favored constituencies, but he also desires a formal declaration for his nomination as Deputy CM. Feeling sidelined by Tejashwi Yadav, Sahani is now hoping for the backing from Congress and leftist parties.

RJD Limits Sahani to 12 Seats

Initially, Sahani demanded 60 seats; eventually, he decreased his expectation to 40, then 20. Currently, he seems willing for an understanding over 15 seats. Despite this, RJD insiders reveal their unwillingness to offer more than 12 seats.

Claiming the Deputy CM Position

Additionally, Sahani’s aspiration for the Deputy CM role faces resistance from RJD leadership. To leverage pressure, Sahani reportedly altered the press conference schedule thrice on Thursday before ultimately canceling it.

Sahani's Preferred Constituencies

The constituencies Sahani seeks to field candidates from include Amour, Bathnaha, Gaurabauram, Alinagar, Rajouli, Bhabua, Kesaria, Jhanjharpur, Gopalpur, Sakra, Nautan, Harnaut, Aurai, Nalanda, and Chhatarpur. Such tug-of-war within the Grand Alliance casts challenges to electoral agreements.
