Congress MP and opposition leader Rahul Gandhi has reached Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh. He came to meet the family of Dalit youth Hariom Valmiki, who was tragically killed in Rae Bareli. However, Hariom's family had firmly refused to meet Rahul Gandhi, leading to the police stopping his convoy.
Later, after discussions, the authorities granted Rahul permission to meet the family. The family had previously stated that they were satisfied with the government's response and did not wish for any political involvement.
Rahul Gandhi waited outside Hariom's house for quite some time but was prevented from meeting the family. Congress workers gathered at the spot and began chanting slogans. The leaders accused the administration of preventing the meeting.
In Rae Bareli, on October 2nd, Dalit youth Hariom Valmiki was beaten to death. Following the incident, the state government took swift action and arrested the suspects while providing financial support to the victim's family.
As Congress leader Rahul Gandhi plans to visit the family, Hariom's younger brother Shivam Valmiki expressed his clear stance that they will not meet Rahul Gandhi or any political leaders.
Shivam stated, "My brother was murdered in Rae Bareli. Two cabinet ministers from the government visited us and provided financial aid and a government job for our family. I am satisfied with the government's actions, and I do not wish for any political leaders to come here for politics."
The family's stance has sparked discussions about Rahul Gandhi's visit.
