An unsettling incident has been reported in Prayagraj where a minor girl was allegedly kidnapped and taken to an IVF center for unauthorized egg extraction. This incident emerged from the Phaphamau area of the Ganganagar zone under Prayagraj Police Commissionerate. The police have registered a case based on the complaint filed by the minor victim's mother, and have detained five accused, including four women and one man, involved in the conspiracy, with legal proceedings currently underway.

Forced Egg Extraction Unveiled

According to DCP Ganganagar Zone, Kuldeep Singh Gunawat, a complaint was lodged at Phaphamau police station by Anita Gautam, wife of Lakshman Gautam. The complaint accused Palak Hela and her mother, Rinki Hela, residents of Kareli, of forcibly abducting her 15-year-old daughter and coercing her to undergo illegal egg extraction at Indira IVF Center. Based on this complaint, an FIR was registered on Friday, February 6.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the victim's mother had initially admitted her to a One-Stop Center on February 3. There, she recorded her statement before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC). The minor victim admitted to visiting Indira IVF with Palak Hela for the egg extraction. She also confessed that following the extraction, her mother harassed her and eventually expelled her from their home. The investigation further revealed that the minor victim worked as a waitress alongside Palak Hela at various wedding events.

Additionally, Palak and her mother, Rinki, through financial inducements, persuaded the minor to become an IVF donor. Subsequently, they took her to Seema Bhartiya, wife of Dilip Bhartiya, where Seema's son, Himanshu Bhartiya, fabricated a fake Aadhaar card falsely showing the minor as married and of legal age. Seema then escorted the minor to Kalpana Bhartiya, a registered agent of Indira IVF.

Police Interrogating the Accused

Kalpana Bhartiya arranged for the minor's consent affidavit. On January 20, 2026, based on fraudulent documentation, the unauthorized egg extraction was conducted at Indira IVF. With the defendant's involvement now established, the Phaphamau police have detained Palak Hela, her mother Rinki Hela, Seema Bhartiya, her son Himanshu Bhartiya, and Kalpana Bhartiya for creating fake documents and falsely representing the minor as an adult to conduct illegal egg extraction.

The detained individuals are currently being thoroughly interrogated to identify other accomplices. Legal action, including arrests and potential prosecution, will be executed based on evidential findings and merit.
