In Jagriti Vihar Extension 2, located in Meerut's Lohiya Nagar police area, a couple was discovered unconscious inside a car. Rushed to the hospital, they tragically passed away. They had ingested a poisonous substance. It uncovered that the two families had planned separate marriages for the couple, both of which were forthcoming.
The deceased young man was a 24-year-old MBA student from the Kharkhoda police area’s village Atara. He was employed in the loan department of a finance company and also assisted his uncle in a shop. Reportedly, he had a romantic relationship spanning approximately five years with a 22-year-old woman from the nearby village Bavanpura.
The woman was the sister of the student’s friend and worked as a clerk at a medical college in Kharkhoda. Their friendship blossomed into love. Meanwhile, the young man's family arranged his marriage in the village of Sikhera, with the engagement occurring on Monday, January 12. His wedding date was soon to be set. The young woman’s family also arranged her marriage to a young man from Kharkhoda, scheduled for January 18.
On Wednesday morning, the young man left his house, claiming he was heading to the shop. However, by 10 AM, he called his uncle, disclosing that he had consumed poison with his companion and they were sitting in a car at Jagriti Vihar Extension. Upon arrival, family members found the couple foaming at the mouth. They were immediately taken to the hospital, but sadly, they succumbed to the poison.
After leaving their homes, they reached Gaizipur, near Lohiya Nagar police jurisdiction, around 10 AM. They wrote a suicide note and consumed poison. Ayush Vikram, SP City of Meerut, reported that the Lohiya Nagar police received a memo from Anand Hospital, indicating that a young man and woman had ingested poison. Both were admitted to the hospital, but the man died by evening and the woman later that night. Initial investigations revealed a romantic relationship, leading to their fatal decision. Further inquiries will determine the circumstances of their demise and necessary legal actions will follow.
