The political temperature soars as actress-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut finds herself at the center of a disparaging social media post by Congress spokesperson Supriya Srinate. The controversy refuses to die down. BJP leader Amit Malviya raises concerning the authenticity of Srinate's account, suggesting that a shared admin could be running her personal and parody accounts.
Union Minister Smriti Irani remarked earlier, "Kangana's foray into politics is not about who you are but about what you've done and can do. The inability to deal with strong women is evident. Stride towards victory." Earlier, an unflattering post along with a picture of Kangana had been shared from Srinate's Instagram, but it was later removed.
'I did not post this myself,'
states Supriya.
Supriya asserts that her account had been accessed by someone else at the time of posting. NCW chief Rekha Sharma will contact the Election Commission regarding the matter, stressing that "Kangana, you are a warrior and shining star. Insecure individuals resort to petty actions. Shine on."
'Every woman deserves dignity,'
Kangana replied.
Kangana responded to the posts stating, "Dear Supriya Ji, I've portrayed a variety of women in my 20-year career as an artist. From an innocent girl in 'Queen' to a fierce detective in 'Dhaakad', every woman deserves her dignity. We must liberate our daughters from prejudices and look beyond their body parts, especially we should avoid using sex workers as a means of abuse or insult in challenging life situations."
Supriya Srinate clarified in a statement that several individuals have access to her social media accounts, one of whom posted an objectionable and offensive post without her consent. She assures that she is identifying the person responsible.
NCW head Rekha Sharma describes this malicious move against Kangana as unfortunate and has written to the Election Commission demanding stringent action against the party and its leaders.
