Renowned hairstylist and businessman Jawed Habib stirred controversy by spitting on a woman's hair during a styling demonstration. The incident, captured on video, went viral, prompting the National Commission for Women (NCW) to summon Habib. On Tuesday, Jawed presented himself before the NCW and publicly apologized.

Written Apology to the NCW

Sources reveal that Jawed Habib issued a written apology to the Commission, stating that his intention was never to hurt or disrespect anyone. The NCW instructed the celebrity hairstylist to ensure such incidents don't recur.

Understanding the Entire Incident

While addressing a seminar, Jawed Habib opted to demonstrate a styling technique on a woman’s hair. In a controversial move, he suggested that when water runs out, spit could be used as an alternative for styling. Demonstrating, he spat on the woman’s hair and remarked on its effectiveness.

Multiple Charges Filed

Following the viral video, the woman filed a complaint against Habib at Mansurpur police station in Muzaffarnagar. He has been booked under IPC sections 355 and 504, as well as sections 3 of the Epidemic Act and 56 of the Disaster Management Act. Nationwide, Habib faced widespread criticism.

Although Jawed Habib issued an apology on social media earlier, and now in person before the Women’s Commission, he may still encounter police action due to the gravity of the situation. Sources state that the NCW had previously written to the DGP of Uttar Pradesh, urging legal action, which is expected to proceed.
