'If You Help Our Enemy...', Khaleda Zia's Party Warns India Over Sheikh Hasina!

Amidst the unrest in Bangladesh due to the student movement, Sheikh Hasina resigned from the Prime Minister's position and moved to India, where she currently resides. This has enraged her staunch rival, former Bangladeshi Prime Minister Khaleda Zia's party, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), against India. The party stated that if India supports Sheikh Hasina, it will be difficult to maintain cooperation.

Senior BNP leader and former minister Geshwar Roy, speaking to the Times of India, said that his party supports mutual cooperation between India and Bangladesh. However, "if you help our enemy, it will be challenging for us to continue mutual cooperation."

He also alleged that India supported Sheikh Hasina's comeback to power. Geshwar Roy further added, 'India is carrying Sheikh Hasina... There is no issue between the people of India and Bangladesh. But should India promote one party over an entire country?'

Where Will Sheikh Hasina Go?

Sheikh Hasina is currently in India, but there is uncertainty about her next moves. It is unclear whether she will stay in India, seek asylum in another country, or return to Bangladesh.

In the meantime, her son Sajeeb Wazed recently stated that his mother would return to her homeland once democracy is restored in Bangladesh.

Since fleeing Bangladesh, no statement from Sheikh Hasina has surfaced, although her son Sajeeb Wazed has been actively speaking to the media. He has thanked the Indian government for ensuring his mother's safety and expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He also dismissed reports claiming that Sheikh Hasina had sought political asylum in the UK.
