Abhay Singh, known as the 'IIT Baba,' has unexpectedly left the Prayagraj MahaKumbh Ashram. Abhay Singh has reportedly moved to an undisclosed location. It is claimed that his parents visited the Juna Akhara’s 16 Madhi Ashram last night in search of him, but by then, Abhay had already left. However, his parents' visit remains unconfirmed.
Other monks at the ashram explained that Abhay Singh was giving continuous interviews, which began to affect his mental state. Amidst this, he communicated certain inappropriate things to the media, prompting his decision to leave the ashram.
The monks stated that Abhay's mental balance deteriorated suddenly; he started indulging in intoxicants and gave interviews while under influence. They even took him to Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Avdheshanand Giri of the Juna Akhara.
Those who took Abhay to the Acharya noted his mental state and proposed that he should leave the ashram, leading to Abhay's departure late that night.
About 40 days ago, Abhay Singh met a monk named Someshwar Puri, who stated that Abhay, at his spiritual level, requires a guru. However, Abhay Singh didn’t recognize anyone as his guru, even though his spiritual state was very elevated.
It should be noted that the social media-famous IITian Baba Abhay Singh of Jhajjar, currently making waves at the Prayagraj MahaKumbh, hails from Sasrauli in Haryana's Jhajjar district. His father is a lawyer and a former president of the Jhajjar Bar Association. 'Aajtak' spoke with his father, Karn Singh.
Karn Singh learned through social media about his son’s renunciation of worldly possessions to adopt a spiritual pathway. He mentioned that Abhay Singh was a promising student since childhood. After achieving a good rank, he was admitted to IIT Mumbai. During the COVID era, he stayed in Canada, working near his sister’s place.
stated that after returning from Canada, he took Abhay to a naturopathy clinic in Bhiwani, where doctors highlighted Abhay's inclination towards spirituality during meditation. While he may not be thrilled with Abhay’s spiritual journey, he acknowledges that it's Abhay's decision, one he must explain himself.
