Her blood sample is under examination at a private laboratory, with results still pending.

According to the Ministry of Health, HMPV is not a novel virus. It was first identified in 2001 and has since been present globally. Experts believe hospitalizations due to HMPV are rare, suggesting it poses limited concern.
Human Metapneumovirus, or HMPV, is a respiratory virus known to infect human lungs and airways. Typically, it results in conditions akin to the common cold or flu. Those with pre-existing conditions or allergies are more likely to contract this virus.
While India is on alert, with numerous precautions and health advisories in place, understanding the nature and spread of HMPV is essential to mitigating its impact. Public health authorities are closely monitoring the situation to protect citizens and curb further outbreaks.
