An unsettling incident has surfaced from South 24 Parganas District of West Bengal. In the Bharatgarh area of the Basanti police station jurisdiction, a young man, following a minor dispute, ruthlessly murdered his sister-in-law and shockingly paraded the severed head on the street. The deceased has been identified as Sati Mandal, while the accused brother-in-law is named Vimal Mandal. Police swiftly apprehended the accused on the spot.

The Dispute: A Mango Picking Incident

The incident unraveled this morning in the Bharatgarh locality of Basanti, situated in South 24 Parganas. Amidst a familial dispute, Vimal Mandal, driven by rage, murdered his sister-in-law Sati Mandal using a sharp weapon.

Early investigations suggest that a quarrel over picking mangoes escalated, provoking the brother-in-law to commit this horrific act. Holding the severed head and the weapon, he treaded the street, seemingly unperturbed, which confirmed the locals' accounts and instilled terror throughout the vicinity.

On His Way to the Police Station

Local residents promptly notified the police, leading to Vimal Mandal's arrest. During interrogation, the accused revealed his intent to personally bring the severed head and murder weapon to the police station. Police suspect a potential long-standing familial grudge might underpin this brutal act, though initially, the mango dispute appears as the motive. The investigation is underway.
