Stories of 'Love Jihad' emerge frequently. A similar incident has surfaced from Surat city in Gujarat, where a girl, the victim of 'Love Jihad', was taken to Dubai by a Muslim boy without marriage, changing her Hindu name to a Muslim one, and dressing her in Muslim attire.
The photos of the girl with the boy act as evidence, circulating on social media. In these viral photos, the girl is dressed in attire worn by Muslim women and is identified as 'Shaina Sheikh'.
No Marriage, No Nikah: Changed Her Name
The Muslim boy who called the Hindu girl to Dubai neither performed a Hindu marriage nor a Muslim 'Nikah'. The girl was taken to Dubai without her family's knowledge.
The girl had told her family she was going to tuition but did not return, prompting her parents to search for her. When they couldn’t find her, they filed a missing person report at the Athwa Lines Police Station.
Parents Uncovered CCTV Footage which Provided a Clue
Before the police could investigate further, the parents reviewed CCTV footage from their house, where they saw the girl, alone, carrying a school bag with her face covered.
Upon informing the police, the investigation revealed she was no longer in Surat, or even in India. She had traveled to Dubai at the invitation of a Muslim boy living in the same neighborhood.
Pressure on Boy’s Family Led to Her Return
The police exerted pressure on the boy's family to send the girl back to India. As a result, the boy sent her back to Surat alone while he stayed in Dubai.
Once in Surat, the police recorded her statement, asking why she went to Dubai. The girl stated that she went willingly and had not been coerced. She expressed a desire to live with her aunt instead of her parents.
This incident occurred in March of this year. The 19-year-old Hindu girl living in the Athwa Lines Police Station area was trapped in 'Love Jihad' by a boy named Sameer Sheikh, also known as Sameer Bharuchi, from her neighborhood.
Invited to Dubai After Sameer Moved There
After moving to Dubai for work, Sameer invited the Hindu girl to join him to avoid suspicion. The girl's family and police were pressuring Sameer’s family to bring her back from Dubai.
Finally, due to the pressure, Sameer sent the Hindu girl back to Surat, though she did not make any statements that would cause legal trouble for Sameer. The police closed the missing person case.
Parents Consider It a Serious Matter
The girl's parents view her involvement with a non-Hindu as a serious matter, claiming that she has been brainwashed and ensnared in 'Love Jihad'. They insist their daughter was not like this before.
The father claims there were attempts over the past three to four years to trap their daughter in 'Love Jihad'. The girl remains under the boy’s influence, and no longer listens to her parents, who feel alienated by their own daughter.
Mother Says Sameer Brainwashed Her
The girl's mother believes that Sameer has brainwashed her daughter to such an extent that she no longer listens to her family. They had many dreams for their daughter's future and her marriage.
But Sameer’s influence changed her entirely, causing great pain to the mother. She believes the government should take action against such individuals.
