On a foggy Wednesday morning in Delhi-NCR, visibility dropped significantly. At the Indira Gandhi International Airport, operational challenges led to the cancellation of 148 flights, including 70 departures and 78 arrivals, with two flights being diverted. Additionally, the heavy fog impacted train services, causing delays and leaving passengers waiting on platforms across Delhi.

The Air Quality Early Warning System has issued a warning that the air quality for December 31 and January 1 is expected to remain in the 'severe' category.

This situation is attributed to an unfavorable ventilation index and wind speeds lower than 10 kilometers per hour.

Over a Hundred Flights Cancelled

Tuesday proved challenging for flights at IGI Airport. According to sources, a total of 148 flights were canceled, including 70 departures from Delhi and 78 arrivals. Visibility at the airport was recorded at a mere 250 meters at 8:30 AM, while runway visibility ranged between 600 to 1000 meters, causing significant inconveniences to passengers.
