On August 15, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the 78th Independence Day celebrations from the historic Red Fort in Delhi. He will hoist the national flag and deliver his traditional address, themed 'Developed India @ 2047'. The aim is to advance the government's efforts to transform India into a developed nation by the centenary of independence in 2047.
To promote public participation, about 6,000 special guests have been invited. Notable attendees will include individuals associated with initiatives like Atal Innovation Mission, volunteers from My Youth India, members of tribal communities, and representatives from farming organizations.

Approximately 2,000 individuals in traditional attire from various states and union territories are also expected to attend the ceremony. Additionally, 3,000 winners from various online contests organized by the Ministry of Defence in collaboration with MyGov and All India Radio will be part of the celebrations.
Defence Minister to Welcome PM at Red Fort
Upon reaching Red Fort, Prime Minister Modi will be welcomed by the Defence Minister and Defence Secretary, along with other prominent personalities. A guard of honor comprising personnel from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Delhi Police will greet him. The Prime Minister will inspect the guard, including the coordinating personnel and commanding officers.

21-Gun Salute with Field Guns
As the Prime Minister approaches the rampart to hoist the flag, a 21-gun salute will be rendered using indigenous 105mm Light Field Guns. This moment will signify national pride and celebration. When the national flag is unfurled, a national salute will be given by representatives of the armed forces and Delhi Police.
Flower Petals from Helicopters
As soon as the Prime Minister hoists the flag, petals will shower from indigenous Advanced Light Helicopters. This aerial display will be conducted by wing commanders of the Indian Air Force. Prime Minister Modi is expected to lay out a vision for developing the nation in the coming decades.

NCC Cadets will Sing the National Anthem
Along with the flag hoisting, National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets will sing the national anthem, symbolizing national unity and pride. The cadets will also participate in an event highlighting the 'My India' logo, featuring customized tricolor kits. Additionally, 500 volunteers from the National Service Scheme will play an active role.
