In the early hours of Tuesday, reports surfaced of an explosion outside two nightclubs in Chandigarh. Suspected attackers targeted nightclubs located in Sector 26, hurling explosive materials their way. Initially, it was thought that the targeted club belonged to rapper Badshah, but the police have since denied this claim.

The attack was reportedly carried out by two unidentified bikers who threw the suspect explosives. The incident occurred around 4 AM on Tuesday and is said to have been a low-intensity explosion. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported from this event.

No Explosion at Badshah's Nightclub

Earlier reports suggested that the blast occurred at rapper Badshah's nightclub. However, Chandigarh Police have clarified that the explosion did not happen at Badshah's club, Seville, but rather at De.orra. Badshah’s nightclub, Seville, is located adjacent to De.orra. The police are not classifying it as a bomb, stating they've found some jute ropes at the scene.

Videos from the site show shattered windows of the club. Upon receiving reports of the explosion, Chandigarh Police arrived at the scene and commenced their investigation. Bomb disposal squads and Central Forensic Science Lab teams were also dispatched to the site to gather samples.

Explosions Intentionally Made to Incite Fear?

According to sources within the Chandigarh Police, attempts were made to create explosions outside the city’s nightclubs using rudimentary bombs made with potash, a common firecracker material. Some jute ropes were also recovered from the site. The nightclubs were closed when the explosion occurred, leading to the belief that the act was intended to spread fear.

Initial investigations suggest that the explosions might be a tactic to incite fear among nightclub owners for extortion. Chandigarh Police are probing the matter with assistance from forensic teams.
