In Tamil Nadu, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has initiated a widespread raid. This operation is linked to the True Value Homes (TVH) firm. KN Nehru's brother, KN Ravichandran, had a significant role in TVH. The ED is searching 13 locations across Tamil Nadu, including premises linked to Tamil Nadu Minister KN Nehru and his son Arun Nehru (an LS MP).

The enquiry stems from a complaint lodged by the Indian Overseas Bank against Trudom EPC Limited, alleging a bank fraud of 220 million INR.

These raids followed a similar operation on Friday against AM Gopalan's chit fund company, Sree Gokulam Chits, in Chennai. AM Gopalan, popularly known as Gokulam Gopalan, is one of the producers of 'Empuraan', a Malayalam film. At its release, the film stirred controversy for its portrayal of the Gujarat riots and the role of right-wing Hindu groups.

Similarly, 'Empuraan' director and actor Prithviraj Sukumaran was served a notice by the Income Tax Department regarding earnings from three 2022 releases: 'Jana Gana Mana', 'Gold', and 'Kaduva'. He had until April 29 to respond to the notice.

'L2: Empuraan' is the sequel to the popular Malayalam film 'Lucifer', directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran and starring superstar Mohanlal. Due to its critical stance on right-wing politics and allusions to the Gujarat riots, the film courted controversy. Recently, Mohanlal announced the removal of contentious scenes from the film to avoid further disputes.

Seeing the escalating controversy, the film's hero, Mohanlal, issued an apology on social media. As tensions mounted, the producers decided to make 17 edits to the film.

According to sources from 'Aaj Tak', the makers of 'Empuraan' have decided to implement a total of 17 changes to the film. They have requested approval from the Central Board of Film Certification for these edits. Close sources suggest that the revised version of the film might hit theaters soon, providing audiences with a new viewing experience.
