An obsession gone horribly wrong, a fake Instagram profile, and a barrage of salacious messages. Bengaluru police arrested Kannada movie superstar Darshan Thoogudeepa on charges of murdering a fan, revealing the disturbing motive behind the crime. However, fresh details have surfaced showing that fanatic Renuka Swamy had, two weeks prior to the event, sent an image to Darshan's partner, Pavitra Gowda, an image that sparked rage and led to a deadly conspiracy.

Kannada cinema's megastar Darshan Thoogudeepa - what drove him to take the life of his own admirer, Renuka Swamy? What was so inflammatory about the message Renuka sent to Darshan's partner and close friend, Pavitra Gowda, that made it impossible for them to maintain composure? The investigating Bengaluru police have now disclosed the provocative element. According to police sources, Renuka sent some highly objectionable private photos to Pavitra Gowda and boasted about being superior to Darshan himself.

Postmortem Report of Renuka Reveals Torture

Pavitra Gowda couldn't keep her fury in check after seeing the photos, and she complained to Darshan's confidant Pawan, who in turn informed Darshan. Subsequently, Darshan and his associates decided upon murdering Renuka. The autopsy report also brought to light the torture Renuka endured. Doctors found at least five injury marks across different parts of her body - including her head, abdomen, chest, and other areas. Police discovered that Darshan not only assaulted Renuka severely but also beat her with a belt and even kicked her in the groin. Following this, Darshan's henchmen tossed her towards a mini truck parked in a shed.

Darshan Claims His Intent Wasn't to Kill

This resulted in a fatal head injury, which became the cause of her death. Along with the lethal weapons used in the murder, police also recovered the mini truck that collided with Renuka. While these are the details reported by the police sources, it's crucial to know what Darshan has told the police during the interrogations. He insisted, "When I learned that Renuka Swamy had reached Bengaluru, I went straight to the shed. I had no intention of killing him. When Pavitra and I reached the shed, Renuka asked us what had gone so wrong to warrant this visit. At this, I slapped him twice. Following this, he began to apologize to us, and I even offered him money to have lunch."

Police Recover Scorpio Vehicle Used to Dispose of Body

According to Darshan, he gave Renuka money so he could return to his hometown of Chitradurga and then left. However, the police investigating the case are not convinced by Darshan's account, suspecting his involvement in the murder conspiracy. The Scorpio car, heavily featured in the case and boasting distinctive marks and a photograph of Darshan, was captured on CCTV near the scene.

Renuka Swamy's Mobile Phone Remains a Police Puzzle

Although serious progress has been made in the murder case involving film star Darshan Thoogudeepa and his partner Pavitra Gowda, with 19 arrests so far, the victim Renuka's mobile phone still puzzles the police. This missing phone contains potentially incriminating messages and images but proves significantly more crucial than just that. Police are scouring the city drains for the phone based on its last tracked location, but their efforts so far have been fruitless.

Why Was the Shed in the Heart of Bengaluru Chosen as the Murder Scene?

The question remains as to why the killers chose the central Bengaluru shed for the murder, especially when they could've easily taken Renuka to a more secluded area outside of the city. The shed, belonging to Darshan's uncle Jayanna and managed by his brother Vinay, typically houses vehicles repossessed by banks for non-payment. Its location - quiet and next to a drain - might have been strategically chosen by the murderers.
