In the capital city of Bihar, Patna, Congress and Left legislators have embarked on a march from the Assembly to the Raj Bhavan concerning the BPSC controversy. Earlier, students had protested, which saw participation from Prashant Kishor as well. Despite being informed by the police that this is a restricted zone, determined MLAs and MPs remain on-site, adamant about reaching the Raj Bhavan. The arriving leaders assert that the government is exhibiting authoritarian behavior, stating, "Meeting the Governor to voice our concerns is our right."
The magistrate stated, "The area they intend to enter is restricted; thus, we have detained them here."
'We seek to go peacefully...'
Congress leader Shakeel Ahmed commented to Aaj Tak, "It's unfortunate that lawmakers and elected figures are being restrained. Our approach is intended to be peaceful."
'Pushed and Knocked Down...'
CPIML legislator Sudama Prasad declared, "We were shoved and knocked down. We were on our way to meet the Governor regarding students' demands. We're not confronting the police, but they are confrontational with us."
The state is set for Assembly elections next year. The BPSC exam issue is increasingly becoming a political flashpoint. Earlier, there was a harsh baton charge on the protesting students, who were crying out, while the police responded mercilessly.
