In a joint venture with Pakistan, China is now part of a propaganda war against India. Under the illusion that Pakistan successfully intercepted Indian aircraft with Chinese-supplied J-10C fighter jets during Operation Sindhur, China is flaunting these jets in a global charade through documentary productions.
The intriguing part is that despite producing a documentary on J-10C, China maintains complete silence on the HQ-9 missile defense system. Chinese defense experts and the government refuse to acknowledge the shortcomings of their HQ-9 system. Interestingly, Pakistan deployed the Chinese-made HQ-9 missile defense at its airbases to defend against Indian missiles.
However, these HQ-9 systems were utterly ineffective against Indian missiles, failing to intercept a single one. As a result, several Pakistani airbases, including Rahim Yar Khan, Noor Khan, and Rafiki, were severely damaged. Prime Minister Narendra Modi remarked on Wednesday that Rahim Yar Khan Airbase was rendered inoperable and uncertain about its resurrection timeline.
CCTV Features Documentary on J-10C
Following Operation Sindhur, Chinese state media CCTV produced a documentary on the J-10C showcasing its journey. According to the South China Morning Post, the documentary attempts to inspire patriotism among young people, devoid of factual accuracy. It's a tactic to foster nationalism through unsound narratives.

Pakistan claimed to have downed Indian fighter jets but provided no physical evidence nor any digital footprint to substantiate their assertion. Pakistan's army, foreign minister, and defense minister relied solely on verbal statements, claiming they shot down Indian jets.
Contrary to these claims, the Indian military and defense ministry have denied acknowledging these assertions. During Operation Sindhur, the Indian Air Force officially reported downing several Pakistani jets. Air Marshal A.K. Bharti confirmed in a press conference, "Their aircraft couldn't enter our airspace. We certainly downed several jets, causing them significant losses."
China's ambition to sell the J-10C in the global arms market under the guise of military brilliance continues, a strategic display of power aimed at regions like Taiwan. The aircraft, multi-role with a single-engine, is touted as a "national pride" in China's Global Times, despite its unverified prowess.
Stunning Silence on HQ-9's Combat Failure
Amidst China's loud celebration of the J-10C, the silence surrounding the HQ-9 missile defense system's failure is deafening. The Chinese HQ-9 air defense, deployed by Pakistan, remained ineffective against Indian missile assaults.
Despite its deployment, the HQ-9 system could not prevent any missile strikes from India, which powerfully responded with BrahMos and indigenous Harpy/Harop loitering munitions, targeting Pakistani domains effectively.
During Operation Sindhur (May 7-10, 2025), Indian Air Force launched synchronized strikes on Pakistani targets within 23 minutes, incapacitating the HQ-9 systems. This operation showcased precise, potent, and unyielding strikes, backed by satellite imagery depicting the extensive damage to Pakistani positions. Without needing corroborative evidence, India's response elicited global acknowledgement of its effectiveness, capitalizing on sophisticated missile technology.
The HQ-9's failure casts doubt on the credibility of China's defense industry. Indian sources assert BrahMos missiles easily outmaneuvered the HQ-9. Pakistani experts and journalists have publicly questioned the inefficiency of the HQ-9 system, highlighting its inadequacies.
