Intention of Loot Foiled

On December 30, 2024, in the area of Kendua Dih, near Godhar Petrol Pump, unidentified criminals approached a truck, intending to loot. However, they were thwarted as the driver was awake and alert.

During the altercation, a juvenile gang member demanded tobacco from the driver, who refused. Enraged, this young member shot truck driver Umashankar Singh and his assistant Nitish Kumar, injuring them seriously.

Commenting on the situation, Dhanbad DSP Nawsad Alam revealed that the investigation led to the arrest of Gautam Bhuyian aka Bhadu (19), Rahul Modi aka Chaila (19), Sarfuddin Ansari aka Chhotu (22), Kallu Pasi (19), and Sujit Kumar aka Sukra (26), along with the minor shooter.

On their indication, the police recovered a country-made pistol and two live cartridges used in the crime. Gang member Sukra, aka Sujit, already has a dozen criminal cases against him in Kendua Dih and Dhanasar police stations in Dhanbad.
