On Friday, police in Munger, Bihar, responded to a reported squabble between two factions when the situation swiftly escalated into an assault on the officers. During the attack, one police officer sustained serious injuries. Reports indicate that the law enforcement team was ambushed with a sharp weapon upon attempting to mediate the quarrel. ASI was struck multiple times on the head, leaving him critically wounded.
According to DSP, after initial medical aid, the injured officer has been transferred to a higher medical center for advanced treatment.
What did the police reveal?
DSP Abhishek Anand detailed that Dial 112 received the call about an altercation in Nandalapura village involving two families. As ASI Santosh Kumar arrived with his team to resolve the conflict, an unidentified individual from a faction attacked him with a sharp-edged weapon. This brutal assault caused grievous injuries to the officer.
The officer further explained that ASI has been referred to Patna for superior care. The police have launched a crackdown to apprehend the culprits responsible for this criminal act.
