New revelations are emerging regarding the arrest of Muskan Rastogi and Sahil Shukla in the gruesome murder of Saurabh Rajput in Meerut. Police disclosed that Muskan, along with her lover Sahil, had been plotting Saurabh’s murder for a considerable time. Their first two attempts failed, but on March 4, their plans came to fruition. That night, not only did Muskan and Sahil murder Saurabh, but they also dismembered his body, encased it in a drum, and sealed it with cement. Audaciously, post-murder, the duo set off for a Himachal vacation, feigning normalcy.
Sahil Shukla possessed an intense belief in black magic and rituals, a fact not hidden from his married lover, Muskan. Although Sahil's mother had passed away years earlier, he was convinced he conversed with her. During investigations, it was unearthed that Muskan had devised three fake IDs on Snapchat, one of which bore Sahil’s mother’s name, and used them for communication.

The chilling aspect of this case extends to Sahil's home, whose walls were far from ordinary. They portrayed the psyche of a man deeply entrenched in mystic practices. The police discovered images of Lord Shiva, mysterious tantric symbols drawn in red and black, alongside strange English phrases. The setting resembled more a hermit’s chamber or a disturbed murderer’s abode than a regular individual’s room.
Poisonous Pills Mixed in Kofta Curry
SP City Meerut, Ayush Vikram Singh, shared with 'Aaj Tak' that Muskan and Sahil executed their plot by purchasing an 800-rupee butcher knife from the market and arranging a plastic drum and cement. Initially, they planned to spike Saurabh’s drink with intoxicants, but the plan failed as Saurabh didn’t consume the drink that day. On March 4, they spiked a kofta curry with a sedative, and after he was unconscious, murdered him with the knife. Muskan struck first, then dismembered the body, storing the remains in a drum sealed with cement.

Sahil's Claim of Conversations with the 'Deceased' Mother
Indeed, Sahil Shukla’s superstitions stretched far. Even without his mother’s presence, he had set up a Snapchat account under her name, convinced she communicated with him from the beyond. Muskan was privy to his beliefs and exploited them, posing as his mother on her brother’s phone number. She would message Sahil as his mother saying, 'Muskan is a good girl; you'll be happy with her.' This manipulation intensified Sahil's love for Muskan. In his superstition-driven mindset, he was even convinced that Muskan was destined to execute Saurabh’s 'sacrifice.'
