Chahal and Dhanashree's romance began in 2020 during the lockdown through virtual interactions. Dhanashree shared in an interview how they connected during her online classes, where Chahal was a student, and love blossomed from there.
Barely two and a half months later, they got engaged and shortly tied the knot on December 22, 2020, in Delhi. While many of Chahal's cricket mates were in Australia for matches, the wedding photos gained traction online.
Dhanashree: From Dentistry to Dance
Dhanashree once pursued dentistry, graduating from a Mumbai college, yet her passion for dance prompted her to shift careers. Starting a YouTube channel in 2017, she quickly ascended to fame.
Now a renowned choreographer, Dhanashree's dance videos, especially Bollywood recreations, have captivated audiences. Her YouTube, with over 2.79 million subscribers, showcases her varied dance styles, including hip-hop.
Active on social media, Dhanashree runs her dance company. A meeting with Hrithik Roshan inspired her further into dance, amplifying her fame. During the IPL 2022, Dhanashree was seen avidly supporting Chahal and the Rajasthan Royals.
Though part of the Indian squad for T20 World Cup 2024, Chahal didn’t play a match. For IPL 2025, the Punjab Kings acquired him for 18 crores. His international stats boast 121 wickets from 72 ODIs and 96 wickets from 80 T20Is.

Filing for Divorce
Both filed for mutual consent divorce on February 5. However, the Family Court retained the mandatory six-month cooling-off period under the Hindu Marriage Act, Section 13B.
Challenging this mandate, Chahal and Dhanashree approached the High Court, seeking relief from the imposed waiting period to reconsider their decision within that timeline. Ultimately, their separation reached its conclusion on Thursday.
