Action Taken in Ayodhya Gang Rape Case: SHO and Officer Suspended, Main Accused's Property Investigated

Significant actions have been taken in the gang rape case that occurred in Bhadrasa, Ayodhya. After the victim's mother met with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Pura Kalander's station head Ratan Sharma and Bhadrasa outpost in-charge Akhilesh Gupta were suspended. This action was taken for their failure to take prompt measures and the delay in filing the case. Additionally, orders have been given to investigate the properties of the main accused, Moeed Khan. The Revenue Department has started measuring the lands claimed to be illegally occupied by Moeed on ponds and government land.

Later, when Hindu organizations and members of the Nishad Party expressed their anger, the police arrested Moeed Khan, president of SP, Bhadrasa city, and his bakery worker, Raju. The NCPCR has issued a notice regarding this incident to the police.

The victim's mother met with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow on Friday (August 2). During this meeting, the Chief Minister assured strict action against SP leader Moeed Khan and other accused. Subsequently, action has also been taken against the station in-charge and outpost in-charge, and the investigation of the accused's property has commenced.

CM Yogi had raised the issue in the assembly

Notably, CM Yogi had highlighted this issue during a speech on law and order in the assembly. He pointed out that the rapist in Ayodhya is close to SP MP (Awadhesh Prasad). Yet, the party has not taken any action against him. Is this something to be taken lightly? CM Yogi had remarked that the SP leader Moeed Khan, involved in the crime, is closely associated with the Ayodhya MP. He interacts and dines with him, being part of his team, but the SP has taken no action against him. However, our government will not spare those who compromise women's safety.

The complete incident

The 12-year-old victim is the youngest among four sisters. Her father passed away two years ago. The family survives on the earnings from manual labor by her mother and sisters. Allegedly, about two and a half months ago, as the victim was returning from the fields after labor work, she was approached by a man named Raju, who told her that the bakery owner, Moeed Khan, was calling her. It is alleged that Moeed raped her, and Raju recorded the act. Raju also raped the girl and kept blackmailing her with the video for a long time.

The matter came to light when the girl became two months pregnant. The victim's mother stated that when they went to the outpost to file a complaint, the inspector asked them to name Raju but leave out the other name. It was only after the intervention of the SP that their case was registered. The family demands the death penalty for the accused.
