As the Delhi Assembly elections approach, the campaigning in the capital has intensified. Meanwhile, the exchange of controversial statements has commenced. Ramesh Bidhuri, the contentious BJP leader and candidate from the Kalkaji Assembly seat, has made a provocative comment about CM Atishi. Just hours earlier, he had apologized for his objectionable statements, tagging BJP Chief JP Nadda in an X post.
BJP leader Ramesh Bidhuri was addressing the 'Parivartan Rally' organized by the party in Rohini on Sunday when he said, "Delhi's slipper CM Atishi even changed her father, turning from Marlena to Singh." From the stage, he addressed his supporters, stating, "Hey, this Marlena has become Singh, brother. She changed even her face and name."

What did Ramesh Bidhuri Say?
The controversial BJP candidate Bidhuri exclaimed, "Kejriwal swore on his children that he would not join Congress. Marlena changed her father. She was Marlena first. Now she has become Singh. This is their character." Bidhuri did not stop there; he loudly attacked CM Atishi's parents from the stage and claimed, "Marlena's mother and father had petitioned for clemency for Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru."
Former CM Kejriwal Criticized
Reacting to personal attacks on the Delhi Chief Minister, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal declared that BJP leaders have crossed all limits of shamelessness. In his X post, he stated, "BJP leaders have crossed all lines of decency. BJP leaders are hurling indecent abuse at Delhi's Chief Minister Atishi Ji. Delhi's citizens will not tolerate the insult of a female CM. All women of Delhi will avenge this."
Appeal to Congress for Apology over Hema Malini Comments
Ramesh Bidhuri had earlier refused to apologize to Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi for his contentious remarks in a conversation with India Today. He insisted, "First and foremost, Congress should apologize to Hema Malini. We have asked them many times, but they have refused to apologize. How can you compare Hema Malini and Priyanka Gandhi?" He had appealed to Congress for an apology over Lalu Yadav's past comments about Hema Malini, mentioning this in his previous contentious remarks.

My intention was not to insult anyone. However, if anyone has been hurt, I express regret."
