The anticipation around Apple's foldable iPhone has been keeping Apple fans on edge for quite some time. While Samsung currently leads in the foldable segment, this year might see a shift in dynamics. The reason? This could be the year Apple unveils its long-awaited iPhone Fold. Although the company hasn’t officially hinted at its foldable project, insiders and experts are betting on Apple introducing its first foldable smartphone this year.

The year 2026 might mark a milestone in Apple's history, not only with the foldable but also with the potential release of AI-enhanced glasses. Prototypes of Apple's futuristic glasses have been spotted before, along with various leaks that have surfaced.

According to reports, the iPhone Fold will feature a 5.25-inch cover screen and a 7.6-inch internal display, both utilizing advanced AMOLED technology. Interestingly, it is believed that the foldable iPhone may omit the Face ID feature to ensure a slimmer design.

It’s worth noting Samsung's Galaxy Fold 7 currently holds the title of the slimmest foldable smartphone, outclassing Apple's slimmest iPhone Air in thickness when unfolded. This comparison puts pressure on Apple to produce a foldable that meets or exceeds this level of sleekness. Hence, to maintain its thin profile, the Apple Fold might replace Face ID with Touch ID for authentication.

Reports suggest Apple could utilize a mix of titanium and stainless steel in crafting this foldable powerhouse. Additionally, a quad-camera setup is expected, featuring a primary lens of 48 megapixels accompanied by an under-display camera on the main display.
