Targeting a sweeping win in the Lok Sabha elections, BJP sets a remarkable goal of 370 seats, while NDA aims for over 400. From Prime Minister Narendra Modi to various BJP leaders, the rallying cry is to surpass the 370 and 400 seat mark. The party has claimed the necessity of these seats to undertake constitutional amendments. Home Minister Amit Shah provided clarity on this issue during an interview with Aaj Tak.

Home Minister Amit Shah with a tenure of over 10 years with a majority, mentioned, "In 2014 BJP secured 272 seats. Currently, we exceed 300 seats. Including NDA's count, we have the capability to amend the constitution. This majority has been utilized to abrogate Article 370, introduce the CAA, and end Triple Talaq."

Responding to claims about eliminating the term 'secular' from the constitution, the Minister said, "We have no need to remove the word secular. Strengthening secularism is a major pursuit of BJP, hence we are introducing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC)." He added, "Congress intends to govern in the name of Sharia, they are the ones needing to adopt secularism, not us. We advocate for a constitution based on secular principles."

"Neither will we remove reservations nor will we let them be removed"

Amit Shah, actively campaigning for BJP, reassured, "The way Congress says that we will remove reservations, we have never utilized our majority for this. We promise not to remove reservations, and won't allow Congress to do so either."
