Home Minister Amit Shah, in an exclusive conversation with Aaj Tak, responded candidly to a myriad of questions. Addressing the inevitability of anti-incumbency faced by leaders after a decade, akin to other nations, he stated that rumblings of discontent are distinguishable from raw anger. The mere mention of Modi's name unfurls people's arms in acceptance. My experience witnesses this unwavering faith across the east, west, north, and south. The far-reaching belief in Modi's promises is undeniable. Not even the slightest trace of anti-incumbency is detectable, no matter how hard one looks. The nation stands united, prepared to re-elect Modi. From 272 seats in 2014 to 300 in 2019, we aspire to cross 370 this time, with NDA soaring past 400.

Confronted with queries regarding PM's popularity exceeding that of local MPs, the Home Minister reiterated that leadership is key. It's the leader's mantle to manifest party ideology and vision into action on the ground. From grassroots workers to a leader of global stature, Modi's journey mirrors his party's rise to success. It is through leadership that a party fulfills its promises, adapts its ideology, and sets definitive goals. The leader's vision and interpretation of ideology steer the party forward.

'India too should embrace the Uniform Civil Code'

On BJP's manifesto promise to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), Shah claimed it represents a major social overhaul. When the constitution was being framed, the architects thoroughly debated UCC, acknowledging its necessity but deferring its implementation. Article 44 thus urges the legislature and the parliament to work towards a UCC at an appropriate time. This was a promise and guidance from the constituent assembly to the nation. However, Congress, driven by vote bank politics, opposes this. In Shah's view, the time for UCC in India has come, as it exists in all democratic nations.

Country trusts PM Modi's guarantee: Amit Shah

Shah accredited PM Modi with rescuing the nation from the abyss of corruption over the last decade, stating that not even the slightest corruption charge could be levied against him. With every underprivileged individual now receiving benefits, Modi, who envisioned a fully developed and self-reliant India upon completing 100 years of freedom, continues to secure the nation's trust.
