Amid nationwide protests against the National Testing Agency (NTA), Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has taken a stance on the NEET exam controversies. Recognizing irregularities in the NEET results, he asserts that those in authority found complicit will not be spared and will face severe consequences. He also concedes that there is an urgent necessity for reforms within the NTA.
Students and parents across the country are protesting against the NTA, demanding action for malpractices in the NEET exam results. Student organizations from prestigious institutions, including DU and JNU, like NSUI, AISA, SFI, and ABVP, are raising their voices in solidarity. Meanwhile, substantial evidence pointing towards a NEET paper leak in Patna-Nalanda and Godhra in Gujarat has emerged, leading to several arrests. During interrogations by the EOU, many of the accused have confessed to the leak and collusion with agency officials. The Education Minister now formally acknowledges these discrepancies.

Last Saturday, Dharmendra Pradhan met with some students and their parents at his office. He listened to their concerns and provided reassurance. The government is committed to ensuring that all students can rely on a transparent process.
He noted that out of the 24 lakh applicants, 23.3 lakh took the exam. It's natural for concerns to arise, such topics as irregularities observed at the exam centers, the use of grace marks formula due to time shortage, raised objections, but have been rectified. The Supreme Court has permitted re-examination yesterday, and the candidates have been notified. Those wishing to retake the exams may do so.
