Action Taken in Bengaluru Stampede: FIR Against RCB, Event Company, and Karnataka Cricket Board

A complaint has been filed with the police against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy CM DK Shivakumar, KSCA officials, and RCB players regarding the stampede at Bengaluru's M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday. It was alleged that their gross negligence in organizing the event and managing the crowd led to this catastrophe.

The Bengaluru police have registered a case against the IPL team RCB after the stampede incident at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday. An FIR has been filed at the Cubbon Park police station against Royal Challengers Bangalore, event company DNA Networks, and the Karnataka State Cricket Association under serious charges.

An FIR has been registered under sections of the Indian Penal Code including Section 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), Section 125(12) (endangering others' life or personal safety), Section 142 (unlawful assembly), Section 121 (role in inciting offenses), and Section 190 (liability for offenses committed by unlawful assembly members).

Additionally, advocate Nataraja Sharma has filed a police complaint against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy CM DK Shivakumar, KSCA officials, and RCB players. He alleged that their gross negligence in organizing the event and crowd management resulted in this tragedy.

This incident occurred on Wednesday when thousands thronged to M Chinnaswamy Stadium to celebrate RCB's IPL trophy win after 18 years. Fans gathered for RCB’s victory parade. According to eyewitnesses, the crowd became uncontrollable both inside and outside the stadium during the celebration, leading to chaos. Many people were trampled, and several were injured.

A massive number of RCB fans arrived at Chinnaswamy Stadium to cheer their team and catch a glimpse of the victorious players. Meanwhile, a large crowd stood on a temporary slab placed over a drain. It is reported that the slab couldn't support the crowd’s weight and suddenly collapsed, causing a stampede. Eyewitnesses mentioned that as the slab broke, several people fell and were trampled by the crowd.
