An esteemed 39-year-old name in the AI industry, Suchana Seth has committed a crime that has left everyone in disbelief. Renowned as an AI ethics expert, data scientist, and the founder and CEO of Mindful AI Lab, she brutally murdered her 4-year-old son in a Goa hotel room on the night of January 8.
Following her son's demise, Suchana attempted to end her life by cutting her left arm. Upon reconsidering, she packed her child's body into a bag. She then spent ₹30,000 on a tourist taxi heading to Bangalore.

Police suggest the crime was due to tense domestic relations. Post-divorce in 2020, the court had ruled her husband could meet their son every Sunday. The verdict left Suchana distraught, as she did not wish for her ex-husband to meet their child, leading to the tragic plot.
Pretense of Joy: Three Days of Deceit in Goa
Suchana lured her son to Goa under the guise of a fun trip. They checked into the Soul Banyan Grand Hotel in Candolim and 'enjoyed' Goa till January 8th.
30,000 Rupees for a Cab and a Flee to Bangalore
Post-crime, Suchana cleansed blood from the hotel room, called the reception for a cab to Bangalore, and set off. Room service found blood specks the next morning, alerting the manager who notified Kalingut police.
CCTV Footage Raised Police Suspicion
After verifying CCTV footage and a false relative address given by Suchana, suspicions grew. Police contacted the driver of the cab, by now in Karnataka, instructed him to visit the nearest police station, where the child’s body was found in Suchana's bag.
Following the discovery, Karnataka police detained Suchana. Goa's DGP Jaspal Singh confirmed her arrest, and further interrogation is underway.
