The India Today Mindrocks Youth Summit 2024 has kicked off, and Karnataka's minister Priyank Kharge graced the event. In his talk, he addressed issues related to employment, business, and government policies. He highlighted his party's mantra, 'Skill Locally, Work Globally,' and confidently stated that Karnataka has no competitors when it comes to development.
Responding to a comparative question regarding Hyderabad, Kharge claimed, 'If you look at the numbers, they are $200 billion behind us. Hyderabad is growing at 29%, while we are at 27%. More than 15,000 startups are registered, with women leading the most significant ones, and B2B funding was about $150 billion last year.'

45 Unicorns in Karnataka!
Minister Kharge boasted that 45 unicorns are based in Karnataka, and the next 38% will also emerge from the state. Karnataka leads in B2B and B2C venture funding, aerospace, and defense with a 65% share. Karnataka contributes 10% to national electronic manufacturing. He also discussed a legislative bill introduced by the Congress government, claiming that 50% of local jobs are reserved.
Welcoming Youth from All States!
Kharge highlighted Karnataka's excellent ecosystem, which attracts people to come here to learn and work. He assured that employment is being provided to everyone. On the issue of giving jobs to youth from other states, he stressed that anyone is welcome here. As for the legislative bill, he emphasized that while state government schemes are for local people, their skills are prioritized.

Emphasis on Creating a Skilled Workforce
When asked about skills development, Kharge discussed the 'Nipun Scheme,' launched to skill the youth of the state. He said that no matter what kind of skills are required—be it data analysis or quantum computing—everything will be taught. Moreover, there is a tie-up with 31 countries for this initiative.
