'3 Lakh Crore Rupees to be Saved with One Nation, One Election', Says Rajnath Singh in Jammu

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh announced on Sunday that the BJP-led government is set to present the 'One Nation, One Election' bill in Parliament, aiming to seek consensus among all parties. He stated that holding the Lok Sabha and assembly elections together across the country could result in savings of up to three lakh crore rupees. Rajnath Singh expressed these remarks while addressing a rally in Jammu.

Rajnath Singh emphasized that the objective of the 'One Nation, One Election' plan is to reduce costs and utilize administrative resources wisely. He stated, 'We are moving forward with bringing a bill to conduct assembly and Lok Sabha elections simultaneously and are striving to unite all parties.' He highlighted several advantages of this plan, including proper use of administrative machinery, rational use of financial and monetary resources, a unified election calendar, optimal employment of human resources, and increased voter participation. According to Rajnath Singh, if both the elections happen together in the country, it could save nearly three lakh crore rupees.

This was reiterated during his speech, where the Defense Minister also pointed out that the nation is advancing and focusing on local production of bombs, tanks, and missiles.

Criticism Directed at Congress

Casting aspersions on Congress, he stated that opposition leaders are spreading falsehoods against India on foreign soil. Recently, Rahul Gandhi was in America, where he discussed Sikhs and their religion. Rajnath Singh asserted that some claims made by him could not possibly be propagated even by Pakistan's ISI. He reiterated that the contributions of Sikhs will never be forgotten.
