In a significant turn of events, 22 Naxalites active in the border regions of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh have surrendered in two separate incidents. Among them is the notorious Naxalite Radhe, with a bounty of ₹1 crore, and top CPI (Maoist) Commander Ramdhar Majhi. Demonstrating a notable victory for security forces, Ramdhar Majhi, a member of the CPI (Maoist) Central Committee, surrendered alongside 11 cadres at Bakarkatta Police Station in Kumhi, Khairagarh on Monday. Majhi handed over an AK-47 rifle, while DVCM-ranked members Chandu Usendi, Lalita, Janki, and Prem also surrendered with AK-47 and INSAS rifles.
ACM members Ramsingh Dada and Sukesh Pottam, along with party members Laxmi, Sheela, Yogita, Kavita, and Sagar, submitted a significant cache of arms, including AK-47s, INSAS, SLRs, .303, and .30 carbines. These individuals were active within the Special Zonal Committee of Maharashtra-Madhya Pradesh-Chhattisgarh (MMC).
The previous day witnessed a dramatic surrender of 10 Maoists with collective bounties amounting to ₹2.36 crore, in Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh, in the presence of CM Dr. Mohan Yadav. This group included the hardcore cadre Surendra alias Kabir, valued at ₹62 lakh. Their arsenal comprised AK-47s, INSAS rifles, SLRs, SSRs, BGL shells, and walkie-talkies.
Prominent in facilitating these surrenders was forest officer Gulab Uike, alongside local villagers in Balaghat, as the Maoists themselves approached to lay down their weapons.
