With the Lok Sabha elections on the horizon, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), led by Lalu Yadav, unveiled their manifesto titled 'परिवर्तन पत्र' (Transformation Charter). The document was launched by Tejashwi Yadav, the former Deputy CM and Lalu Yadav's son.
Highlighted in this transformative charter, the party's boldest claim revolves around government jobs. Tejashwi Yadav declared that should the IND Alliance triumph, they will secure jobs for ten million citizens.
Promise of Jobs to Ten Million People
Tejashwi Yadav stated, 'If our alliance comes into power, we're committed to offering government positions to ten million nationals. Unemployment is currently our biggest adversary, ignored by the BJP, who failed to deliver on their two-million-job promise. Our word equates to action, and we will deliver these ten million jobs.'
The Pledge of the Vintage Pension Scheme
Beyond employment, Tejashwi Yadav assures the revival of the old pension scheme, aiming to uplift Bihar with a special state status. Also, the manifesto promises a special package grant for Bihar's development.
24 Pledges for 2024
During the press conference for the manifesto release, RJD announced, 'Today we present the transformation charter with 24 pledges for the 2024 elections. We guarantee to fulfill the promises made for the progress of Bihar.'
Further, they added, 'Whenever we pronounce our plans, we mean to execute. During the past 17 months, granted to us, we advanced the issues we campaigned on in the 2020 election and delivered half a million government jobs - a feat unmatched by any other state.'
RJD national spokesperson Manoj Jha claimed, 'We conducted a caste-based survey and restructured reservation--promises of change we had made. We've formulated an IT policy. Ensured jobs for sportspeople and athletes. We come with 24 vows for 2024.'
