Former Indian captain and member of the 1983 World Cup-winning team, Krishnamachari Srikkanth, has lavishly praised Team India's current T20 form. He suggests that the way India is playing could intimidate other teams from facing them in the T20 World Cup.

Srikkanth jokingly mentioned that Pakistan might as well skip the tournament, as Team India could defeat them thoroughly. He made this comment in light of the recent statements by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi. Before the T20 World Cup, a 5-match T20 series between India and New Zealand is underway, where India has displayed remarkable prowess.

In the match played in Guwahati, New Zealand set a target of 154 runs for India, which India chased down in just 10 overs. Abhishek Sharma scored a half-century in 14 balls, and captain Suryakumar Yadav contributed an unbeaten 57 runs off 26 balls. This was the fastest 150-plus chase by a Full Member team in T20 Internationals. Earlier, India chased a target of 209 in Raipur T20 match in just 15.2 overs, setting a new record.

In his YouTube show, Krishnamachari Srikkanth remarked, 'India is scoring 200 runs in 15 overs and 150 runs in 10 overs. This might lead other teams to reconsider playing, suggesting that they hand over the cup to India.'

'Six Hit in Colombo Might Land in Chennai'

Krishnamachari Srikkanth mentioned that if Pakistan's board head Mohsin Naqvi is considering withdrawing, then Pakistan should not participate, as the Indian team could easily outperform them. He humorously said that Indian batsmen are hitting such powerful shots that a six hit in Colombo might land directly in Madras (Chennai). Hence, it would be better for Pakistan to find an excuse and stay away from the tournament.

According to Krishnamachari Srikkanth, this batting prowess by Team India rings alarm bells for teams worldwide. He expressed that he has never seen such aggressive batting in T20 cricket before. Srikkanth believes that in the current form, competing against Team India would be challenging for any team.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi mentioned that Pakistan is currently awaiting government approval for participation. However, Pakistan has announced its T20 World Cup squad, indicating readiness to participate. The ICC has warned Pakistan of strict action should they withdraw from the tournament. India and Pakistan are set to face off in the same group for the T20 World Cup, with a match scheduled on February 15 at Colombo's R. Premadasa Stadium.

Krishnamachari Srikkanth also heaped praise on Abhishek Sharma, stating that his ability to play big shots effortlessly leaves bowlers clueless about where to bowl. Abhishek has accumulated 1,267 runs in 36 T20 Internationals, with an average of 38.39 and a strike rate of 195.22.
