The police forces of Himachal Pradesh and Delhi found themselves in a dramatic face-off. In a twist of events at the AI Summit protest, Himachal police halted a Delhi Police team in their tracks, which was apprehending Youth Congress activists. The situation took a legal turn, concluding in court. Now, Himachal Pradesh Police has come forward with an official statement.

The actions of Shimla Police have been deemed legally justified by Himachal authorities. A press release highlights that Shimla Police acted promptly on a suspected abduction case. They described that some individuals from outside the state took three residents staying at Chanshal Resort in Chirgaon away in vehicles with non-local registrations.

Upon receiving information about the potential abduction, including reports involving a Digital Video Recorder (DVR) and other electronics, Shimla Police took immediate steps, intercepting at Shogi, ISBT Shimla, and Dharmpur. It was uncovered during the investigation that the team responsible for escorting the individuals from the resort belonged to Delhi and Haryana Police.

The individuals were detained concerning a case filed in Delhi. Himachal Police ensured the protection of all involved persons' rights and sought compliance with legal procedures by presenting them in court. Medical examinations were carried out at Shimla's Ripon Hospital for the three detainees.

Subsequent to these proceedings, the court of ACJM-2 granted nearly 18 hours of transit remand. After completing the legal formalities, the Delhi and Haryana Police were allowed to proceed with the apprehended individuals to Delhi.
