In a tragic turn of events on May 16, Zepto delivery boy Karan Raju, who got injured in a road accident in Dwarka South, Delhi, passed away on May 19. The instant grocery delivery startup Zepto has offered a helping hand during these tough times, providing Karan's family with financial assistance of 1 million INR. Additionally, the company has ensured that an insurance amount of 800,000 INR is handed over to his family. Moreover, Zepto covered all the medical and funeral expenses of the 19-year-old young man and is advocating for justice in Karan’s case.
Started Job For Sister’s Wedding
According to reports, Karan Raju took up the delivery job at a young age to support his sister's wedding. His father's salary was insufficient, prompting him to shoulder some of the family's responsibilities. Tragically, just two months into his job, he fell victim to a road accident.

Company Releases Official Statement
In an official statement, Zepto announced a financial aid of 1 million INR to Karan’s family, expressing, “We are deeply saddened by the untimely demise of Karan Raju. He was serving as a delivery partner for the online grocery company as part of Zepto. On the fateful day, Karan, wearing a helmet, was riding on the left side of the road when a vehicle hit him from behind. While returning to our center after delivery, he suffered the tragic hit-and-run incident in South Delhi, eventually succumbing to his injuries during treatment at Safdarjung Hospital."
Friend Rushed Him to Hospital
On the night of the accident, Karan was on his way back to the office at Sector-10 around 11:30 PM when a vehicle hit him, leaving him severely injured. Coincidentally, a friend of Karan’s was traveling on the same route. Upon noticing the gathered crowd, he stopped, only to find Karan seriously injured. In haste, the friend transported him to the hospital.
