What transpired between Nawaz Sharif and Zakir Naik?
During their meeting, Nawaz Sharif commended Zakir Naik for his efforts in promoting Islam. Various religious and social issues were under discussion. Naik urged Muslims to steer clear of divisive issues stemming from minor differences in religious practices and to focus solely on worshipping Allah.
Naik emphasized his mission to extend Islam's reach with a 'broad and inclusive perspective,' inviting non-Muslims to the faith.
Zakir Naik: India's Most Wanted
Earlier, during his visit to Pakistan, Naik met with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Mujammil Iqbal Hashmi and other members of the group. He is wanted in India on charges of fostering hate and encouraging extremism.
Upon his arrival in Pakistan on September 30, Naik was warmly received by members of terrorist groups in Lahore. His presence, particularly his association with banned terrorist organizations like Lashkar-e-Taiba, has raised international concerns. This group is responsible for several terrorist attacks, including the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
