The ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 has commenced, and this year's tournament is being co-hosted by the West Indies and the USA. All eyes are on Team India, as they aim to claim their second T20 World Cup title. India was triumphant in the inaugural edition of the tournament back in 2007.

Yuvraj Eager to End India's Title Drought

With great enthusiasm for the T20 World Cup, Yuvraj Singh, known for his aggressive batting, is confident that the Indian team's skills and self-belief are sufficient. He insists that if the team plays to its potential instead of focusing on the opposition, it can end the long wait for an ICC trophy.

India last claimed an ICC tournament in 2013, winning the Champions Trophy. Just two years before that, Yuvraj significantly contributed to India's ODI World Cup victory. His stellar performance in the 2007 T20 World Cup, including the iconic six sixes against England's Stuart Broad, is still remembered.

When questioned about India’s long contest for an ICC trophy win, Yuvraj expressed his belief in the team’s capability to overcome big challenges and urged them to play with full confidence and potential.

Speaking as the ICC ambassador for the T20 World Cup, Yuvraj highlighted that past victories were achieved by focusing on team strengths. He advised against worrying about how the opposition could potentially exploit their weaknesses and instead concentrate on what makes them formidable—a team of match winners. He remarked that the IPL is a fantastic platform for World Cup preparation and expressed hope for a successful tournament and an Indian victory to end the ICC trophy drought.

Yuvraj also hinted that India, along with possibly West Indies or Pakistan, might clinch a spot in the finals.
