The tragic demise of Yuvraj Mehta in Noida has sparked a thorough investigation. The SIT assembled for this case is carefully scrutinizing every detail. A detailed reconstruction of the events from the night of January 16 is now available.
According to the report, after leaving the office on January 16, Yuvraj first headed to the Manhattan Bar & Restro located in Gurugram's Sector-43. The office party was ongoing, with his friends already present. CCTV footage revealed Yuvraj enjoying drinks at table number 18.
After about three hours of partying, Yuvraj left the bar at 9:44 PM. His movements were captured on various CCTV cameras. It was found that around 11 PM, Yuvraj's car was sighted speeding from the Delhi side towards Pari Chowk on the Mahamaya Flyover.
Minutes later, at 11:08 PM, his car was caught on camera heading towards Sector-76 Metro Station from Safipur Crossroad. His vehicle appeared near the Sector-76 Metro Station again at 11:12 PM. This was Yuvraj Mehta's last recorded movement. During this time, a major accident occurred in Noida Sector-150. His car skidded in thick fog, breaking a boundary and falling into a deep, water-filled pit intended for the basement of an under-construction commercial complex. Witnesses reported Yuvraj calling for help for about two hours.
Police and rescue teams reached the scene but couldn't save him. It was after extended efforts by the fire department, police, SDRF, and NDRF on Saturday that his body was retrieved. NDRF deployed boats and divers to locate the submerged car. Three days after the accident, on Tuesday evening, the car was finally recovered.
Previously, a director of a real estate firm, Abhay Kumar, had been arrested in connection with this case. The police stated that MZ Viztown Planners' Director Abhay Kumar was arrested in Sector-150 and sent to judicial custody for six days. An FIR was launched on the complaint of Yuvraj's father, Rajkumar Mehta, under charges of involuntary manslaughter and other sections.

Additional Commissioner of Police (Greater Noida) Hemant Upadhyay mentioned that every aspect of negligence is being investigated in this case. However, there's no official information regarding actions against the second firm, MZ Viztown Planners and Lotus Greens. An SIT has been formed for the investigation.
Under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's order, a three-member SIT led by ADG Meerut Zone Bhanu Bhaskar is conducting the inquiry. The team includes Bhanu Chandra Goswami, Commissioner of Meerut Division, and PWD's Chief Engineer Ajay Verma. The SIT is mandated to submit its report within five days. They have visited the accident site and held meetings with officials to review the situation.
ADG Bhanu Bhaskar stated that they are examining the roles of civilian authorities, police, and emergency services. Determining where mistakes were made and whether the accident could have been prevented is a focus. The SIT will also engage in discussions with the victim's father. In the aftermath, Noida Authority CEO Lokesh M has been reassigned from his position.
