The GEN-Z movement in Nepal is being hailed as a success by the youth, who find themselves in dire situations where neither quality education nor post-education certification and employment are accessible. Frustrated by the previous government's neglectful attitude, one young man, who completed B-Pharma yet received neither certificate nor job, became part of this transformative movement.
Attempting to remove the Prime Minister, the youth-led movement saw participation from individuals like Bishnu Gupta of Nepalgunj. His father has been running a store in Nepalgunj for over 40 years and enrolled his son in B-Pharma, hoping for a better future.
A 3-Year Course Takes 5 Years
Currently, Bishnu Gupta assists his father in the family business, lamenting Nepal's frail education system. He states that degrees taking three years in India take five in Nepal, with an additional year unaccounted for.
Bishnu argues that students waste precious time and consequently seek education and employment abroad. The youth demand that the new Prime Minister prioritize reforming the educational system.
Anticipating Educational Reform from New Government
Improving education is Nepal's most fundamental need, according to Bishnu and his father, who educated his son to offer more than the family business. This pressing need sparked the great movement, with youth optimistic about future educational reforms.
