A harrowing event unfolded in a packed Mumbai local train, where a woman, a yoga teacher, faced sexual harassment. Traveling from Bandra to Goregaon with her boyfriend, she found herself the target of an assault by a man who used the crowd as a shield. Alerting her friend through screams, they managed to apprehend the assaulter and surrendered him to the police at the next station.

According to reports, on Tuesday night, around 8 PM, the 25-year-old yoga teacher and her friend were traveling when 28-year-old Praveen Vishwakarma started touching her inappropriately. The victim yelled to inform her friend, who, with the help of fellow passengers, thoroughly beat the perpetrator and handed him over to the railway police. The accused is a resident of Jogeshwari.

Police confirmed that the suspect was promptly detained. Based on the yoga teacher's complaint, he was charged under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code intended to protect a woman's dignity. He was presented in court the next day, where he was granted bail. Incidents of molestation in Mumbai's local trains are frequently reported, largely facilitated by the heavy crowds.

Just last week, another incident involving a minor girl took place between Dadar and Andheri stations. She was traveling with her father when Noor Ahmad Sagir Ahmad, a Kamathipura resident, opportunistically began to touch her. Upon realizing what was happening, she screamed, leading to the crowd detaining and beating the culprit. Upon arrival at Andheri railway station, the police admitted him to a hospital.
