Over at Subi Reef, China has laid claim and built an artificial military base, including a short runway of 3,000 feet. These facilities host both the Chinese military and coastguard stations.
Whitsun Reef features a floating outpost, indicative of the ongoing presence of Chinese military forces, although there's no current occupation. The Mischief Reef, well within Philippine maritime boundaries, is under Chinese control and hosts its militia fleet and military station.
