The upcoming session of the Delhi Assembly on September 26 and 27 has garnered special attention from the BJP. This will be the first time Atishi will be present as the Chief Minister, while Arvind Kejriwal will attend as an MLA.
An interesting point to note is whether Kejriwal will sit in the same seat, or a new one will be designated for him, or if his chair will remain empty. The Chief Minister's chair is positioned right in front of the Speaker's platform, while the Leader of the Opposition sits at a 90-degree angle to it.
On Monday, while assuming the role of Chief Minister, Atishi said, 'Just as Bharat managed the throne by keeping sandals, I will manage the CM's chair.' During this time, an empty chair was seen next to her. She stated that this chair would wait for Kejriwal's return and remain in the room until then.
The BJP is Prepared
Leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, Vijender Gupta, has said all BJP legislators will engage in discussions and force the government to respond to the issues affecting Delhi's 20 million citizens during the upcoming session. He asserted that the government led by Aam Aadmi Party has now become a 'corrupt party' government. The opposition will adopt an aggressive stance on 14 key issues during the session.
1. 50 deaths during monsoon rains
2. 11 pending CAG reports
3. No ration cards for 95,000 poor people
4. Severe water crisis
5. Pension for the elderly
6. Rising pollution levels
7. Poor transport system
8. Sixth Delhi Finance Commission
9. Delhi Jal Board's ₹73,000 crore debt
10. Corruption in hospital construction
11. Funds blocked for 12 DU colleges
12. Fake appointments in DSEU
13. Discriminatory behavior towards BJP MLAs

'The Government Can't Run from Jail, Nor Bail'
Taking a jibe at former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the Leader of the Opposition stated that it took Kejriwal a long time to realize that a government can't be run from jail or on bail, which eventually forced him to resign. According to him, Aam Aadmi Party leaders do not want to discuss public issues in the assembly, hence no question hour is included in the provisions.
