SP MP Calls Rana Sanga Traitor, Descendant Vishvaraj Responds: He Fought Babur

Vishvaraj Singh Mewar stated to Aaj Tak that he viewed the recording of Samajwadi Party MP Ramji Lal Suman's statements. The claim that Babur was brought by Rana Sanga is factually wrong, as Rana Sanga fought against Babur. The remarks were entirely incorrect, and their manner of expression was even worse.

The political atmosphere is tense following a controversial comment by Samajwadi Party MP Ramji Lal Suman. While the BJP has struck back at his statement, Rana Sanga's descendant, Vishvaraj Singh Mewar, has also reacted strongly. He asserted that individuals like these who reach Parliament do not need to lecture Rana Sanga. Yet, a stern response is warranted against disrespectful remarks aimed at our nation's illustrious historical figures.

Vishvaraj Singh Mewar expressed to Aaj Tak that he watched the recording of what the Samajwadi Party MP said. The assertion that Babur was brought by Rana Sanga is baseless, as history shows Rana Sanga actually stood against Babur. The entire claim presented by the MP was incorrect, and his articulations made it even more problematic.

Vishvaraj Singh Mewar emphasized that the Rajya Sabha is considered a council of elders, where maturity should be exhibited. He has addressed some senior BJP officials regarding the Samajwadi Party MP’s remarks.

Samajwadi Party MP Ramji Lal Suman commented in the Rajya Sabha suggesting that accusing others of having Babur's DNA has become a BJP catchphrase. Ramji Lal asked who brought Babur to fight Ibrahim Lodhi, claiming that it was Rana Sanga. He provocatively stated, 'If Muslims are descendants of Babur, then you are descendants of the traitor Rana Sanga—it's something India needs to discern, as you criticize Babur but refrain from criticizing Rana Sanga.'

Union Minister of Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat responded to SP MP Ramji Lal Suman's comments in the Rajya Sabha, asserting that those who study India's 1,000-year history understand Babur and Rana Sanga as incomparable figures. Maharana Sanga sparked the flame of freedom, playing a pivotal role in preserving India's independence and maintaining its rich culture. While some small-minded people make such remarks, he believes these discussions are unwarranted.
